Akusha

Akusha is a village in the mountains of central Dagestan, Russia, and the historic centre of the Dargin people. From at least the 17th century it led the Akusha-Dargo union of village communities, whose qadi served as its leading authority. Russian forces under General Aleksey Yermolov defeated the union in 1819 and brought it under Russian rule.
