Cahors
Cahors is a town in south-western France on a loop of the Lot River, the capital of the department of Lot. It grew from Divona, the Roman chief town of the Cadurci, and became a bishopric and a centre of medieval banking. Its fortified Valentré bridge, built in the 14th century, and its dark red wine are well known.
