Dang district
The Dang district is a hilly, forested district in southern Gujarat, India, bordering Maharashtra, with its headquarters at Ahwa. Known as the Dangs, it was long held by Bhil chiefs whose teak forests the British leased from the 1840s. Merged into Bombay State in 1948, it became a district of Gujarat in 1960, and most of its people are Adivasi.
