Franz Anton von Kolowrat-Liebsteinsky

1778–1861 · 19th century · Also known as Count Kolowrat

Franz Anton von Kolowrat-Liebsteinsky was a Bohemian noble and Austrian statesman who directed internal and financial affairs from 1826. Under the incapable Emperor Ferdinand I he sat with Metternich in the State Conference that governed the empire, and their rivalry helped paralyse government before 1848. He briefly served as the first minister-president of Austria in 1848.
