Greifensee

Greifensee is a small town and lake in the canton of Zürich, Switzerland, east of the city of Zürich. Its castle was the seat of a lordship that Zürich acquired in 1402, and it became one of the city's rural bailiwicks. In the Old Zürich War of 1444 the confederates took the castle and executed most of its garrison, an event known as the Murder of Greifensee.
