Guayaquil Conference

1822 · 19th century

The Guayaquil Conference was the meeting of the two leading liberators of South America, Simón Bolívar and José de San Martín, at Guayaquil on 26 and 27 July 1822. Held in private, it left no reliable record, but soon afterwards San Martín withdrew from Peru and public life, leaving Bolívar to complete the liberation of Peru.
