Isny im Allgäu
Isny im Allgäu is a town in the western Allgäu in Baden-Württemberg that grew around a Benedictine abbey founded in 1096. It bought its freedom from the Truchsesses of Waldburg in 1365 and was a free imperial city until 1803, living from linen weaving and trade with Italy. It adopted the Reformation, and around 1540 Paul Fagius ran a Hebrew printing press there.
