La Higuera

La Higuera is a small village in the Vallegrande Province of the Santa Cruz Department, in the eastern Andean foothills of Bolivia. Che Guevara was held in its schoolhouse after his capture by the Bolivian army in October 1967 and executed there on 9 October. It has since become a place of pilgrimage for admirers of Guevara.
