Person
Narasimha I (Hoysala)
Narasimha I was king of the Hoysala dynasty from 1152 to 1173, the son and successor of Vishnuvardhana. He inherited a large and wealthy kingdom but lacked his father's energy, and the Hoysalas remained in the shadow of the Kalachuris who had seized the Western Chalukya capital Kalyani. He was overthrown by his son Veera Ballala II.
