Rhodesian Front
The Rhodesian Front was a white conservative party in Southern Rhodesia, founded in 1962, which won that year's election on a platform of opposing majority rule. Under Ian Smith it made the Unilateral Declaration of Independence in 1965 and governed Rhodesia through the long bush war until the settlement of 1979. Renamed the Republican Front in 1981, it held the reserved white seats in Zimbabwe's first parliament.
