Sengoku period

Also known as Sengoku

The Sengoku period, or Warring States period, was an era of almost continuous civil war in Japan from the late fifteenth to the late sixteenth century. Regional lords fought for power while central authority collapsed. Portuguese traders arrived during this period and introduced firearms, as accounts of the Portuguese Empire note, and the Tokugawa Shogunate emerged from its eventual reunification.
