State Counsellor of Myanmar
The State Counsellor of Myanmar was a post created in April 2016 for Aung San Suu Kyi, who was barred from the presidency by the 2008 constitution because her sons held foreign citizenship. Comparable to a prime minister, it gave her leadership of the government and the right to advise the president and parliament. The office ended with the military coup of 2021.
