Trienio Adeco
The Trienio Adeco was the three-year period from October 1945 to November 1948 when Venezuela was governed by Democratic Action (AD), whose members were known as adecos. Brought to power by a civilian–military coup against Isaías Medina Angarita, the party introduced universal suffrage, reformed oil policy and saw Rómulo Gallegos elected president in 1947. A military coup ended it in 1948.
