Ya Na
Ya Na is the title of the king of Dagbon, the kingdom of the Dagomba in northern Ghana, who reigns from Yendi. The kingship rotates among royal lines, and candidates must first hold one of the senior gate chieftaincies, such as Karaga, Savelugu or Mion. A succession dispute between the Abudu and Andani lines led to violence in 2002, and a new Ya Na was installed in 2019.
