Albert II of Belgium
Albert II is a former King of the Belgians, who reigned from 1993 to 2013. A younger son of Leopold III, he succeeded his brother Baudouin, who died without children, shortly after constitutional reform had made Belgium a federal state. His reign saw long government crises between Flemish and Francophone parties, and in 2013 he abdicated in favour of his son Philippe.
