Altenburg Castle
Altenburg Castle is a palace complex on a rock above the town of Altenburg in Thuringia, Germany. It was the residence of the dukes of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg and, from 1826, of Saxe-Altenburg. In 1455 it was the scene of the Prinzenraub, the kidnapping of the young Saxon princes Ernest and Albert by the knight Kunz von Kauffungen. Today it houses a museum, including a collection of playing cards.
