Anoia

Anoia is a comarca, or county, in central Catalonia, Spain, with its capital at Igualada, named after the Anoia river that crosses it. Its towns grew on leather tanning, textiles and paper-making, with Capellades long known for its paper mills. In antiquity the area formed part of the lands of the Iberian Lacetani.
