Aruna pass
The Aruna pass is a narrow route through the Carmel ridge in present-day Israel leading to the plain of Megiddo. In the fifteenth century BCE Thutmose III led his army through this pass to surprise a coalition of Canaanite rulers at the Battle of Megiddo. The bold manoeuvre is a celebrated episode in the military history of the Egyptian New Kingdom.
