Bateshwar Hindu temples
The Bateshwar Hindu temples are a group of about 200 sandstone temples dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu near Morena in Madhya Pradesh, built mainly between the eighth and tenth centuries CE under the Gurjara-Pratiharas. Abandoned and largely collapsed, perhaps through earthquakes, they were partly restored by the Archaeological Survey of India from 2005. They are an important early example of the northern temple style.
