Bellapais Abbey

Bellapais Abbey is a ruined monastery near Kyrenia in northern Cyprus, founded around 1200 and largely rebuilt under the Lusignan kings in the 13th and 14th centuries. Built for Premonstratensian canons, its church, cloister and great refectory are among the finest Gothic buildings in the eastern Mediterranean.
