Bidache
Bidache is a village in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department of south-western France, on the Bidouze river. It was the seat of the Gramont family, whose castle dominated the village, and from the 16th century they claimed it as a sovereign principality on the border of France and Navarre. Annexed to France in the Revolution, the castle was burned in 1796 and stands in ruins.
