Bouchain
Bouchain is a small town on the Scheldt in the Nord department of northern France, formerly part of the County of Hainaut. A fortress on the frontier, it was taken by Louis XIV in 1676 and confirmed to France by the Treaty of Nijmegen in 1678, after which Vauban strengthened it. In 1711 the Duke of Marlborough captured it in his last great siege.
