Catherine of Navarre
Catherine of Navarre (1468–1517), also called Catherine of Foix, was queen of Navarre from 1483 until her death. She ruled jointly with her husband John III of Albret, and their reign was troubled by the rival ambitions of France and Castile. In 1512 Ferdinand the Catholic accused them of siding with France and conquered Upper Navarre, leaving the couple only the lands north of the Pyrenees.
