Chikka Vira Rajendra
Chikka Vira Rajendra was the last raja of Coorg (Kodagu), in south-western India, reigning from 1820 to 1834. Accused of misrule and hostility to the British, he was deposed by an East India Company force in 1834, and Coorg was annexed. He lived in exile, travelled to Britain, where his daughter was baptised with Queen Victoria as godmother, and died in London in 1859.
