Person
Donald II of Scotland
Donald II, in Gaelic Domnall mac Causantín, was king of the Picts or of Alba from 889 to 900. He was the first ruler whose death notice in the Irish annals calls him king of Alba, the name that replaced Pictland for the kingdom north of the Forth. He was probably killed fighting the Vikings, and his cousin Constantine II succeeded him.
