Erdmuthe Dorothea von Zinzendorf

1700–1756 · 18th century

Erdmuthe Dorothea von Zinzendorf, born a countess of Reuss-Ebersdorf, married Count Nikolaus Ludwig von Zinzendorf in 1722. While her husband led the renewed Moravian Church at Herrnhut and travelled on its missions, she managed the family estates and finances, which kept the community solvent. She also wrote hymns and is honoured as one of the founding figures of the Moravian Church.
