Person
Gautama Subhadra
Gautama Subhadra was a king of Kantoli, a trading state probably in south-eastern Sumatra, known from Chinese records. In 502 he sent tribute to the Liang court of China, and his son Vijayavarman sent further embassies. These missions are among the earliest evidence of a Sumatran port kingdom seeking Chinese recognition.
