1685–1753 · 18th century · Also known as Bishop Berkeley

George Berkeley was an Irish philosopher and Anglican bishop of Cloyne, educated at Trinity College Dublin. He also wrote on vision, mathematics and, in The Querist, on the economic problems of Ireland.
