Haguenau Forest
The Haguenau Forest is one of the largest forests in France, covering about 190 square kilometres in northern Alsace around the town of Haguenau. The Hohenstaufen emperors used it as a hunting ground from their castle at Haguenau, and it was long called the Holy Forest because of the hermits and monasteries within it.
