Höfe District
Höfe is a district of the Swiss canton of Schwyz on the southern shore of Lake Zurich, made up of the municipalities of Wollerau, Freienbach and Feusisberg. It belonged to the abbey of Einsiedeln and to Zürich, which ceded it to Schwyz in 1440 after the Old Zürich War. The acquisition gave Schwyz a foothold on Lake Zurich and its trade route.
