Hurricane Iota
Hurricane Iota was a Category 4 Atlantic hurricane that struck the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua on 16 November 2020, less than two weeks after Hurricane Eta had hit the same area. Moving across Nicaragua and Honduras, it caused severe flooding and landslides that, together with Eta, killed hundreds of people, displaced hundreds of thousands and deepened the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
