Hwangnam Daechong

Hwangnam Daechong is the largest Silla tomb at Gyeongju, South Korea, a double burial mound of the fifth century about 120 metres long, probably of a king and his queen. Excavated in 1973–1975, it contained tens of thousands of objects, among them a gold crown, glassware from the Mediterranean world and weapons. It shows the wealth and wide contacts of Silla's early rulers.
