Jian'an poetry
Jian'an poetry is the poetry written in China during the Jian'an era (196–220) at the end of the Han dynasty, centred on the court of Cao Cao. Its leading poets were Cao Cao, his sons Cao Pi and Cao Zhi, and the Seven Scholars of Jian'an. Their direct and often sombre verse on war and suffering was later admired as a model of vigorous style.
