Kommos
Kommos is a Minoan harbour town on the south coast of Crete, at the edge of the Mesara plain, which probably served as the port of Phaistos. Excavated by Joseph Shaw from 1976, it has large stone buildings, ship sheds and imported pottery from Egypt, Cyprus and the Levant, and later a Greek sanctuary used by Phoenician sailors.
