Kwan Phayao

Also known as Phayao Lake

Kwan Phayao is a large freshwater lake beside the town of Phayao in northern Thailand. It is the largest freshwater lake of the north and an important fishery. The old city of Phayao, capital of a medieval Tai kingdom, stood on its shore, and the ruins of a temple, Wat Tilok Aram, lie submerged in the lake.
