Leopoldo Galtieri
Leopoldo Galtieri was an Argentine general who headed the military junta as president from December 1981 to June 1982. Facing economic crisis and growing protest, he ordered the invasion of the Falkland Islands in April 1982, and he was forced to resign after the British recapture of the islands. A military court later imprisoned him for his conduct of the war.
