Lingayen Gulf

The Lingayen Gulf is a large inlet of the South China Sea on the west coast of Luzon, Philippines, bordered by Pangasinan and La Union. Its coast was home to the trading polity of Caboloan and was visited by Japanese and Chinese merchants. Japanese forces landed there in December 1941, and American forces landed there in January 1945 to retake Luzon.
