Lord Mengchang

d. 279 BCE · 3rd century BCE

Lord Mengchang, personal name Tian Wen, was a prince and minister of the State of Qi in the late 4th and early 3rd centuries BCE, one of the Four Lords of the Warring States period. Holding the fief of Xue, he kept several thousand retainers, whose tricks, such as imitating a cock's crow to open a frontier gate, saved him from captivity in Qin. He served at times as chief minister of Qi, Qin and Wei.
