Mithridates V of Pontus
Mithridates V Euergetes was king of Pontus from about 150 to about 120 BCE. He allied with Rome, sending ships in the Third Punic War and troops against Aristonicus in the war over Pergamon, and was rewarded with Greater Phrygia, which Rome later took back. He extended Pontic influence over Cappadocia and Paphlagonia and was assassinated at Sinope, leaving his widow Laodice as regent for their son Mithridates VI.
