Mithridates III of Pontus

d. c. 185 BCE · 2nd century BCE

Mithridates III was king of Pontus from about 220 to about 185 BCE, son of Mithridates II and the Seleucid princess Laodice. Little is known of his reign, but he continued his family's ties with the Seleucid dynasty. He was succeeded by his son Pharnaces I, who took Sinope and made it the capital of Pontus.
