Mumias
Mumias is a town in Kakamega County, western Kenya, near the Nzoia River. It grew around the court of the Wanga kingdom and takes its name from Nabongo Mumia, who welcomed British caravans there in the late 19th century, when it served as an early colonial station. In the later 20th century it became known for one of Kenya's largest sugar factories.
