Pantaleimon Shpylka
Pantaleimon Shpylka was a Greek Catholic priest in the Lemko region of the Carpathians. After the collapse of Austria-Hungary in 1918 he led the council of the Komancza Republic, a short-lived Lemko self-government around Komańcza that looked to the West Ukrainian People's Republic. Polish forces ended the republic in January 1919.
