Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda
The Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda is a Buddhist shrine on Inle Lake in Shan State, Myanmar, and one of the most venerated sites in the country. It houses five small Buddha images, so thickly covered with gold leaf by devotees that their shapes are obscured. During an annual festival four of the images are carried around the lake on a royal barge in the form of a mythical bird.
