Pula

Also known as Pola

Pula is a city at the southern tip of the Istrian peninsula in Croatia. As the Roman colony of Pietas Iulia it gained monuments such as its well-preserved amphitheatre of the 1st century CE. Under Austria-Hungary it was the main base of the imperial navy, and it is now an important port and tourist centre.
