Quintus Pompeius (consul 141 BCE)

2nd century BCE · 2nd century BCE

Quintus Pompeius was a Roman politician, the first of his family to reach the consulship, in 141 BCE. Succeeding Quintus Caecilius Metellus Macedonicus in Hispania Citerior, he failed to take Numantia and Termantia and made a secret peace with the Numantines, which he then disowned. The Senate refused to ratify the agreement and the Numantine War continued.
