Rab
Rab is an island of Croatia in the Kvarner Gulf of the northern Adriatic, with a medieval town of the same name known for its four bell towers. In Roman times it was a municipium called Arba, and it later belonged in turn to Byzantium, the Croatian-Hungarian kingdom and, from 1409, Venice. Tradition holds that Saint Marinus, the founder of San Marino, came from Rab.
