Raimbaut d'Orange

c. 1147–1173 · 12th century · Also known as Raimbaut of Orange

Raimbaut d'Orange was a Provençal troubadour and lord of part of the county of Orange. About forty of his poems survive, many in the difficult trobar clus style, and he exchanged songs with other troubadours such as Giraut de Bornelh. He died young, and later tradition linked him with the trobairitz Comtessa de Dia.
