Rajaraja Chola III
Rajaraja Chola III was king of the declining Chola dynasty from 1216 to 1256. Under him the Chola kingdom was overrun by the Pandyas, and around 1231 he was captured by the Kadava chief Kopperunchinga, being freed only through the intervention of the Hoysala king Narasimha II. The Cholas thereafter depended on Hoysala protection.
