Pandya dynasty
The Pandya dynasty was a long-lived Tamil ruling house of southern India, based at Madurai. In the early fourteenth century the general Malik Kafur, serving Alauddin Khalji of the Delhi Sultanate, sacked the Pandya treasury at Madurai. The campaign was part of the submission of most major southern powers to the sultanate by 1311.
