Glossary · Term
Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty is surgery to reconstruct or reshape the nose. Early descriptions of the procedure appear in the surgical compendium attributed to the Indian physician Sushruta. Accounts of the Gupta Empire cite this work, which also covered cataract surgery, as evidence of the advanced state of medical knowledge in classical India.
